My name is Andrew and I have worked in the vehicle delivery industry for over six years. I started with Intertechnic where most of my work involved delivering BMW Customer Experience cars from their National
Vehicle Distribution Centre at Thorne. During my time at Intertechnic I was selected to attend the Mercedes Benz Retail Delivery Course at their UK Headquarters in Milton Keynes.
I was added the Intertechnic training team, helping to train new drivers in BMW collection and customer handover procedures. After successfully completing the Mercedes Benz course I was tasked with training drivers in compound collection and retail delivery procedures for Intertechnic’s new Mercedes Benz contract.
After leaving Intertechnic I started as an independent driver. I was one of a group of four divers who planned to work under the MotorFlow brand. Unfortunately, through illness and changed circumstances the other three drivers were unable to join me.
I have entitlement and insurace to drive larger Cateogry C1 vehicles. These are comercial vehicles rated between 3500Kg and 7500Kg such as the Iveco Daily series.
I have now worked independently for nearly five years, building up my reputation for reliability, flexibility and excellent client communications. As an independent driver I have delivered over 1,400 vehicles, on time, with no loss or damage.
Online vehicle sales have increased greatly during the pandemic with many customers opting for a home delivery. I carry out all vehicle deliveries in a Covid safe manner. Prior to delivery I ensure all vehicle touch points and keys are wiped down with anti- bacterial cleaning wipes. I ensure I wear a mask and gloves where appropriate. Handovers can be completely contactless with photos taken of the customer and their new vehicle as an alternative proof of delivery. Of course I also follow social distancing guidelines at all times.
Should an extra level of sanitizing be required, for an extra charge I can deploy a vehicle disinfectant 'bomb' before delivery. This involves sealing the vehicle at the delivery point, releasing the can of sanitizing product in the passenger footwell whilst running the vehicle air conditioning for 15 - 20 minutes. The sanitizing product will circulate throughout the vehicle sanitizing all hard surfaces, seats, carpets and the air conditioning system itself.
